Eugen Tomac, the designated prime minister, is in a difficult situation, having support only from PSD, which imposes conditions for supporting the government. Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated that it is impossible to vote for a government he is not part of, after they were excluded through a motion of censure. Tomac continues to seek support, appealing to all political parties to overcome the current tensions. The National Minorities Group has not made a final decision, but negotiations are ongoing. PSD demands a government program that includes anti-inflation measures and strict conditions for social aid.
Although PSD could form a majority with minority groups, calculations show that they would not gather enough votes. In the event of a failure, the president could withdraw support for Tomac and prepare a technocrat prime minister, considering the names of Radu Burnete or Delia Velculescu.
