Eugen Tomac comes out "confident" after consultations with USR: I hope he shows responsibility, beyond the legitimate reasons to express his reservations.

The designated Prime Minister Eugen Tomac reiterated on Monday, after the consultations with USR, the same message as after the negotiations with PNL, namely that he is "confident" and that he wants the parties to give him the "chance to unlock" the crisis. Tomac stated that he presented the USR members with the reasons why he accepted "the serious responsibility of forming a cabinet of ministers at a time of tension, the reason why I believe that Romania needs a functional government". "I hope that my colleagues from USR will show responsibility, beyond the legitimate reasons to express their reservations regarding certain issues that I have clarified, I hope," said Eugen Tomac after the consultations, adding that they "are mature politicians, with quite a lot of experience". The consultations with USR came after the negotiations with PNL, at 11:00, and are followed by discussions with PSD. On the other hand, the leader of PNL and interim Prime Minister, Ilie Bolojan, stated that a government "that does not rely on explicit political support is not a solution for Romania". Eugen Tomac has until Sunday to present himself before Parliament for the investiture vote.
