MEP Siegfried Mureșan announces that the European People's Party is calling for the full accession of Romania and Bulgaria to the Schengen area.

The declaration was adopted by 11 EU heads of state and government, as well as a number of senior officials. Muresan underlines that the full accession of the two countries to Schengen would make the EU more secure, believing that the Schengen area is fully functional only with their participation.
