<p>Elena Udrea has filed a request for conditional release at the Ploiești District Court, after the Prahova Tribunal decided to deduct a period of about eight months from her six-year prison sentence in the Gala Bute case. The first hearing will take place on June 19. Udrea, jailed from June 2022, was finally convicted in 2018 of corruption but fled to Costa Rica. After a series of legal events and extraditions, she was convicted again. Her damages are estimated at €3 million.
