USR leader Cătălin Drulă is calling on President Nicușor Dan to take action against presidential adviser Florin-Lazăr Vlădică after the White House announced that it had asked the U.S. ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, to resign. Drulă made the statements in a message posted on Facebook.
The politician claims that Vlădică attended a dinner with Sorin Grindeanu and Kimberly Guilfoyle and asks why the president would not deal with his adviser in a manner similar to that announced by the U.S. administration.
In the same message, Drulă accuses Sorin Grindeanu and an official identified as Ivan of having ties to the former U.S. ambassador. He claims that they supported Guilfoyle’s interests and calls on prosecutors to investigate alleged pressure for Romania to purchase U.S. gas at a price considered too high.
The USR leader also links these allegations to the fall of the Bolojan government. He claims that Guilfoyle boasted that she had contributed to the government’s removal and asks whether the PSD and AUR votes on the no-confidence motion were the result of “external orders.” Drulă’s claims are not accompanied by public evidence in the quoted message.
