Dominic Fritz, the president of USR, stated on Friday that he does not consider Nicușor Dan close to PSD, emphasizing that this message is a narrative that PSD is trying to respond to in order to create the impression that there is a coordinated plan to overthrow the government. In an interview, Fritz mentioned that he perceives Dan as a president concerned with his constitutional role, who seeks to maintain a political balance and facilitate dialogue between the different parties.
He reaffirmed that there are no reasons to consider that Dan has a closeness to PSD, highlighting that the USR leader has no grievances regarding how the president exercises his function.
