Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete said that legislation will be amended to prevent doctors employed in public hospitals from referring patients to private services. This will mean that doctors will be obliged to prioritize their contracts with the National Health Insurance House in the public sector. Rogobete emphasized that although public hospitals have modern equipment, patients were being sent to the private sector because of legislative anomalies. Also, uninsured patients will continue to benefit from medical services under certain conditions.
