The section for judges of the CSM reacted to the announcement of President Nicușor Dan regarding the initiation of a referendum among magistrates, stating that this is not provided for by law and that it will not tolerate interference in judicial activity.

The CSM emphasized that the exercise of powers by public authorities must respect the principle of separation of powers, as stipulated in the Constitution. Additionally, the CSM reminded that it is the guarantor of the independence of justice and that Romania, as a member state of the EU, must respect the rule of law.
