In a social media post, Cristian Tudor Popescu stated that he has never believed in conspiracy theories, but now he considers that there are legitimate questions regarding Nicușor Dan's candidacy for the presidential elections, especially after the cancellation of the second round of voting by the Constitutional Court.

According to the journalist, Nicușor Dan could represent a "quick replacement solution" for Călin Georgescu, suggesting that his launch in the race was orchestrated by those who promoted Georgescu. Popescu emphasizes that Dan's decisions and statements over the past year have made him question the motivations behind his candidacy.

He also criticizes the appointments in the judicial system associated with the current presidential term, mentioning the use of justice to "break the legs of the enemies of the people."
