President Nicușor Dan convened consultations at the Cotroceni Palace with the political parties represented in the Parliament in order to nominate a candidate for the post of Prime Minister. The consultations, scheduled throughout the day, do not include AUR, which has announced that it will not participate. The talks come after earlier meetings in which pro-European parties recognized the seriousness of the budget deficit and pledged to work together on solutions. It was also agreed that the incoming government will draw up a plan to cut public spending.
