Ilie Bolojan announces agreement in coalition on budget: The social package requested by PSD will be included

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that an agreement has been reached in the coalition regarding the budget for 2026, following discussions convened by Sorin Grindeanu.

The social package requested by the PSD will be included in the budget project, with funds coming from the amounts allocated to judges, who have won salary rights in court. Bolojan emphasized that, instead of increasing the deficit, it was decided to reduce expenses related to the rights obtained by judges, thus postponing payments. Thus, part of the money allocated to the High Court of Cassation and Justice for the reimbursement of amounts earned by judges will be redirected to the PSD solidarity package. The government will only pay a portion of the amounts owed to judges, under conditions where an allocation of 4.94 billion lei for personnel expenses was initially planned, a significant increase compared to the previous year.
