Ciprian Ciucu, first vice-president of PNL, stated that there are PSD ministers who regret the withdrawal of support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, mentioning that they have collaborated effectively on various projects.
Ciucu emphasized that not all PSD members are bad, but criticized the way some have embraced the politics of the party leaders:
“I spoke with two ministers today and they felt bad. We have done so many things together! Many projects, we worked on them. Not all PSD members are fools, not all are bad, but by the way they have embraced the politics of Mr. Grindeanu, Ms. Olguța Vasilescu, and Mr. Manda, they have lost their own dignity. People felt bad about their work in the Bolojan Government. They told me they don't know how we got here”.
He explained that Bolojan tried to implement unpopular but necessary measures for the country, suggesting that PSD could have refrained from intervening and let PNL lead:
"I don't know if he is the only one who can stop them. But at this moment we have an honest man making unpopular decisions. PSD could have done nothing, let us take the right measures for the country and wait for their turn".
PNL's plan is to continue with Bolojan as prime minister, either in a minority government or to move into opposition.
