The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that the Municipality of Bucharest is an "administrative monster," characterized by bureaucracy and extremely complex administrative hurdles. In an interview with Digi24, he mentioned that, in two months of office, he has managed to analyze only 20% of the subordinate institutions, considering the large number of general directorates and municipal companies. Ciucu emphasizes the need for an administrative reform to streamline the functioning of the Municipality and mentioned the difficulties encountered due to the lack of a majority to support these changes. He also highlighted Bucharest's funding deficit, estimating losses of nearly 4 billion lei due to government decisions. The mayor pointed out that, despite Bucharest's significant contribution to the national economy, the city faces major financial challenges.
