Marcel Ciolacu launched harsh criticisms against Ludovic Orban, stating that he requested the support of the PSD to return to the position of prime minister in March 2020, after being dismissed by a vote of no confidence. Ciolacu refers to Orban as "the expired troubadour" who is trying to reinvent himself, accusing him of giving lessons on the budget, even though under his leadership public debt has significantly increased.
The president of CJ Buzău emphasizes that the budget deficit during the pandemic did not support the population, but facilitated "huge thefts of public money." Ciolacu reminds of controversial episodes from Orban's career and criticizes his attempts to position himself as a defender of political integrity. Orban's response to Ciolacu's attacks was vehement, accusing the PSD of responsibility in governance and blocking necessary decisions.
