First Vice President of PNL Cătălin Predoiu stated on Tuesday, after the censure motion was voted, that it should not have come to this situation, and negotiations should continue.
"The solution of the motion is not a beneficial one for Romania. Discussions and negotiations should have continued until, as Stolojan said, they fell under the table. PNL is a party with a pro-European DNA. At this moment, PNL does not deserve this motion, Prime Minister Bolojan does not deserve this motion. There is a lot of emotion in the party, we will have meetings. (...) PNL must choose whether to rush into a hasty decision and flee from the responsibility of governance, or to weigh its options and continue to assume these responsibilities. (...) Under no circumstances is the resignation of Ilie Bolojan from the position of PNL president on the table," Predoiu stated.
"My opinion is that we must weigh at this moment and make the best decision. The best decision for PNL is to continue governing, to keep its options open and to see what happens in the coming days," Predoiu added.
We remind that the PSD-AUR motion was voted by 281 senators and deputies.
