Cătălin Drulă criticizes the amendment introduced by PSD and AUR to the integrity law: "Toxic and clearly unconstitutional"

Cătălin Drulă, former Minister of Transport, launched a harsh attack against the social democrats, AUR, and the Thuma wing of PNL for a controversial amendment to the integrity law. This stipulates that the mandate of a mayor ceases retroactively if found guilty of a conflict of interest, which Drulă considers unconstitutional.

“PSD and the integrity law. Romania in the zodiac of the vultures. The guys who used to put newspaper clippings in the stack of banknotes have ended up leading the country. They took advantage of the PNRR milestone on the integrity law to make a maradona. They pushed a toxic and clearly unconstitutional amendment into the Senate. After the new law comes into force, there would be a new sanction (which does not exist in the old law): immediate termination of the mandate,” published Cătălin Drulă on Facebook.

He emphasizes that the amendment, introduced under the pretext of implementing the PNRR milestone, could lead to the loss of 700 million euros in European funds. Drulă claims that the target of this amendment is Dominic Fritz, the mayor of Timișoara, who has been accused of a conflict of interest, although the new law excludes his act from this category. Criticizing the PSD's way of operating, Drulă warns that this action reflects a political perversion and a test for Romanian society, urging citizens to resist and fight for a society based on truth.
