The interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that approximately 10% of Romania's parliamentarians are no longer affiliated with the political parties on whose lists they were elected in 2024.
Bolojan mentioned that some of them, coming from parties such as AUR, SOS, POT, or PSD, have had discussions with the county organizations of PNL and have joined the party's groups in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. He emphasized that PNL has not encouraged political turncoats and has not offered benefits to these parliamentarians. Bolojan believes that a situation in which there is a large number of unaffiliated parliamentarians is problematic, as they do not generate predictability in Parliament.
He also mentioned that President Nicușor Dan has summoned the unaffiliated parliamentarians to Cotroceni to discuss their opinions, considering the influence they may have in the adoption of legislative projects.
