
The Minister of National Defense of Romania, Ionuț Moșteanu, had a bilateral meeting with his Spanish counterpart, Margarita Robles Fernández, in Brussels, during the NATO Defense Ministers' Meeting. Moșteanu appreciated Spain's contribution to the NATO Battle Group in Romania and the professionalism of the Spanish air forces in air policing missions. The discussions focused on current issues facing the Alliance and the European Union, including strengthening security on the eastern flank and in the Black Sea region, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
The two ministers emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts for the stability of the Alliance and supporting vulnerable partners. They also highlighted the effective collaboration between the Romanian and Spanish armed forces within operations under the auspices of the European Union. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to advance bilateral cooperation and ensure interoperability in the field of defense.
