Traian Băsescu, after the failure of negotiations for the new Government: "They don't care, simply a bunch of low-quality amateurs who are burying the country. They are all a bunch of clowns who each have their own Constitution."

In the 'News Pass' show on B1 TV, former president Traian Băsescu launched a harsh criticism against the political actors in Romania, describing them as 'low-quality amateurs' who are burying the country. Băsescu emphasized that each party and politician has their own 'Constitution', thus ignoring the Constitution of Romania. He mentioned that the president, PNL, and PSD each have their own conditions, disregarding the fundamental law of the country.

His criticism was also directed at Nicușor Dan, suggesting that he would have a 'Constitution' that excludes AUR. Băsescu concluded that all these politicians are 'clowns' who do not respect the legal framework of the country.

"Everyone sets their own conditions, meaning the president has his own Constitution, PNL has its own Constitution, PSD has its own Constitution, none of them consider the Constitution of Romania. They don't care, simply put, they are low-quality amateurs who are burying this country thinking that they can add to the Constitution. (...) Nicușor Dan has his own Constitution, probably in his Constitution it says 'without AUR', PNL has its own Constitution, probably in PNL's Constitution it says 'with Bolojan and without PSD', PSD has its own Constitution which says 'without Bolojan'. So, if you look closely, they are all clowns who each have their own Constitution, none of them have the Constitution of Romania in hand when they speak. In the Constitution, we have not only the letter of the Constitution, we also have the spirit of the Constitution. If the parties are not able to come without conditions in front of the president, the president must say: dear parliamentary parties, because you cannot, I will appoint a prime minister from the party with the most parliamentarians. I would do this and give ten days to come up with a Government. What the president is doing now is unconstitutional and drags the country into a situation of political instability," said Traian Băsescu on Tuesday evening, on B1 TV.
