The leader of the AUR senators, Petrișor Peiu, declared that the party will not support a government that does not have an AUR prime minister. In a press conference, Peiu emphasized that AUR will only vote for a government led by a prime minister from its ranks and that it is essential for the government program to contradict the measures adopted by the Bolojan government.
The spokesperson for AUR, deputy Ștefăniță Avramescu, criticized the idea of having a prime minister from a party that did not pass the electoral threshold, referring to speculations regarding Eugen Tomac's candidacy. Avramescu stated that Romania needs a government with political accountability, not a technocratic one, and reiterated that AUR will not vote for a government that does not include or does not have an AUR prime minister.
