The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) reacted positively to the statement of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who stated that she would vote for the reunification with Romania in a possible referendum. AUR believes that Maia Sandu has the necessary power to organize a national referendum or a vote in the Parliament of Chișinău. In an interview, Sandu explained that, although there is currently no majority in favor of reunification, there is significant support for integration into the European Union, considering it a more realistic solution for ensuring Moldova's sovereignty. AUR is waiting for a reaction from the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), emphasizing that Maia Sandu's previous attitude was to minimize the unionist current. AUR interprets the statement as an invitation to collaborate for reunification, highlighting that this could be a solution for Moldova's security in the context of regional tensions. Additionally, AUR proposed in the Romanian Parliament a bill for the establishment of the "Moldova Fund," aimed at Romanian investments in the Republic of Moldova.
