The honorary presidential advisor Eugen Tomac stated that he had meetings with at least five AUR parliamentarians, at their request, to discuss the political situation in Romania. AUR claims that, in fact, Tomac contacted the parliamentarians to obtain votes for the investment of his government.
The party has asked President Nicușor Dan to dismiss Tomac, considering that his involvement in discussions with AUR parliamentarians represents an unacceptable interference of the Presidential Administration in the internal affairs of the parties. AUR emphasizes that such maneuvers endanger the credibility of the presidential institution and turn Cotroceni into a behind-the-scenes political actor. Additionally, AUR demands a public position from President Nicușor Dan condemning these practices and reaffirming the principle of non-involvement of the Presidential Administration in political negotiations.
