Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, stated that the budget execution for the first four months of 2026 reflects the Bolojan Government's vision on reform, highlighting the increase in taxes and the freezing of pensions. Peiu emphasized that teachers, pensioners, and entrepreneurs are the ones who suffer, while banks and heads of state institutions benefit from these measures.
The budget execution shows an increase in income, property, and VAT taxes, but also a drastic reduction in capital expenditures. Additionally, expenditures on public sector salaries and pensions have been frozen, which affects the standard of living of the population.
Peiu concluded that this budget execution demonstrates a halt in investments and a penalty for those who actively contribute to the economy, in favor of banks and political interests.
