George Simion, the president of AUR, stated on Facebook that at 6:00 PM a government without popular support will be announced, considering this a continuation of the attack on democracy.

He emphasized that AUR parliamentarians will not enter the voting room to elect a prime minister who has not received even 1% support from Romanians, accusing it of being a mockery towards citizens. This reaction comes in the context in which the Presidential Administration announced that the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, will make a press statement, and MEDIAFAX sources indicate that Eugen Tomac will be appointed to form the new Government, after the dismissal of Ilie Bolojan on May 5.

The political deadlock was generated by the refusal of PNL and USR to join PSD in a new coalition. AUR stated that it will support a government led by a prime minister from its ranks.
