Apele Române's headquarters, located on Ion Câmpineanu street in Bucharest, costs €54,000 a month, according to the environment minister. The building, the Union International Center, is owned by the Israeli group Ashtrom, which has extensive experience in construction and a turnover of 12 billion dollars. The minister has announced that he will call for a review to find a new location, as the current contract is coming to an end. It also points out that the company that owns the building has links to Cyprus, a jurisdiction known for its opaque financial system.
