Farmers' associations are requesting an urgent meeting with President Nicușor Dan for clarifications regarding the Mercosur Agreement.

The Alliance for Agriculture and Cooperation (AAC) has submitted an urgent meeting request to President Nicușor Dan, citing the need for clarifications on essential issues for the agri-food sector. Among the topics for discussion are Romania's position regarding the Mercosur Trade Agreement, the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) starting January 1, 2026, as well as details about the Multiannual Financial Framework 2028-2034. AAC emphasizes the importance of these aspects for farmers and agricultural cooperatives in Romania and the European Union, mentioning the growing dissatisfaction among its members due to a lack of communication. Additionally, leaders of professional organizations in the field are calling for constant dialogue with authorities to ensure a well-founded national position.
