Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has decided to appoint Alina Mirela Bocai as the president of the National Agency for Drug and Addiction Policies and Coordination, with the rank of state secretary.
The decision was published on Thursday in the Official Monitor and will take effect immediately. This revokes a previous decision whereby Vice President Luciana Buliga took over the responsibilities of president, following the resignation of Rareș Petru Achiriloaie. The latter announced on social media that he had fulfilled his objective of operationalizing the institution, emphasizing that his mandate was dedicated to institutional building.
The new president, Alina Mirela Bocai, will take over the leadership of the agency at an important transitional moment for drug policy.
