Alexandru Rogobete, the resigning Minister of Health, reacted to the statements of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who claimed that government reforms were implemented 'with the brakes on'.
In a press conference, Rogobete emphasized that there was no such blockage from PSD, providing concrete examples of reforms supported by the party. He mentioned the amendment of the legislation that allows universities to no longer appoint department heads, but to organize competitions, and highlighted PSD's support in this regard. Additionally, Rogobete mentioned the measure to break the CNAS monopoly, emphasizing that PSD supported him in his initiatives, even in those that were not specific to the party. This statement comes in the context of political tensions and debates over reforms in the healthcare system.
"We did not have the brakes on from PSD because, if we had, we would not have eliminated the possibility for universities to appoint department heads. If we had - and you remember well last year in the summer when we introduced that amendment in legislation whereby department heads are no longer appointed by universities and will take competitions and will be evaluated with annual indicators and so on, within the party it is true that there were three people, one more vocal, who opposed this measure, however, overall, PSD accepted, supported me, as proof that we moved forward," said Alexandru Rogobete.
