Designated Prime Minister Adrian Veștea would discuss on Tuesday with President Nicușor Dan at Cotroceni

The designated Prime Minister Adrian Veștea is going to the Cotroceni Palace on Tuesday for a discussion with President Nicușor Dan, according to political sources. The head of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, was also called to the negotiations later.

The meeting takes place after UDMR announced that it will not be part of a possible government team led by Veștea and the recommendation of the parliamentarians is to vote against the investment of this cabinet.

Csoma Botond, UDMR representative, emphasized the lack of a stability forecast, mentioning that the new cabinet could be supported by parliamentarians from parties like AUR or SOS Romania, with which UDMR does not collaborate. Additionally, PNL, the party to which Veștea belongs, has asked him to resign, a request that the designated prime minister refused, stating that he will continue responsibly. Veștea has had meetings with smaller parliamentary groups, but has not obtained a clear response regarding support in Parliament.
