To file a lawsuit against someone means to accuse them of reprehensible intentions that you cannot prove. You attribute thoughts, plans, hidden agendas – without evidence. Just because it confirms your own fears or your own dislikes.

Exactly this is happening now.

The president's visit to the US at the Peace Council has been transformed overnight into "evidence" of abandoning European alliances. Without serious arguments. Without concrete facts. Only through ideological extrapolation and partisan reflex.

It is a clear demonstration of how political preferences can annul lucidity.

In times of war, the central criterion is not ideological comfort. It is national security. Romania is at the border of a major conflict. In this context, the president's obligation is simple and non-negotiable: to strengthen all available security guarantees. Even when this involves dialogues or gestures that not everyone likes.

Romania has a solid strategic partnership with the United States. It hosts strategic American military facilities. Thousands of American companies operate here. These are not ideological symbols, but strategic and economic realities. Maintaining a functional relationship with Washington is not a sentimental option, but a pragmatic necessity.

Does this mean abandoning the European Union? In no case. Romania is an EU member state and an integral part of the European project. The two directions are not incompatible. On the contrary, they complement each other in our security architecture.

To claim that any rapprochement with the US would mean betraying Europe is a dangerous simplification. To insinuate that "whoever is with the Americans now is, in fact, with Putin" is an absurdity. And to vilify the current American political leaders would be a historical folly.

Foreign policy is not an exercise in emotional loyalty. It is the management of national interest in a complicated, tense, and unstable context. And Romania's interest is clear: stability, protection, credibility.

Geography does not change. Vulnerabilities do not disappear through indignation. The resilience of a nation does not grow through media agitation.

We can have different opinions. We can criticize decisions. But replacing analysis with a lawsuit of intention is not critical spirit, it is noise and subversion.

And noise and hysteria do not defend Romania. Instead, it is lucidity and intelligent patriotism that defend us.
