Alfred Simonis said that any negotiations for the formation of a new government should be initiated by the President of Romania, after the swearing-in. He underlines that PSD, as the largest party in Parliament, cannot be treated as a secondary partner in a government led by PNL and USR, given that PSD won the parliamentary elections. Simonis ruled out the possibility of accepting a position in the government, saying he will remain at the helm of Timis County Council.
