According to Oxford Economics data, Romania has the third-fastest global advance in spending on dining out, with an average of €830 per household in 2024. This significant growth, more than five times that of a decade ago, is underpinned by higher incomes and accelerated urbanization. However, Romania lags behind other countries in the region. Young people are increasingly adopting eating out as part of their lifestyle, with street shopping and tourism contributing to the trend. Experts predict that spending on eating out will double in the next 10 years.
