According to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, property tax will be increased from January 1, 2026, as part of the tax reform agreed with the European Commission. The measure, seen as a milestone in the PNRR, was initially postponed to 2025, but was extended for political reasons. Bolojan mentioned that other taxes, such as corporate and dividend taxes, could also be revised, but no further details were given. The short-term measures will be implemented immediately after the new government is formed.
