OMV Petrom has confirmed that it will carry out layoffs in Romania, as part of a global restructuring in which the OMV group intends to let go of 2,000 of its 23,000 employees. Although the Romanian subsidiary will be the most affected, company representatives did not provide details about the exact number of employees to be laid off. OMV Petrom emphasized that all restructuring will respect social rights according to the collective labor agreement and will be conducted in consultation with the unions. The company justifies its decisions by the need to adapt to a constantly changing market environment.
