Ion Iliescu's death opens discussions about the secrets of the 1989 Revolution and the anti-Cceauist plots in which he was involved. Although he claimed that the revolution was spontaneous, Iliescu admitted that he took part in conspiratorial meetings to overthrow Ceausescu.
