Alexandru Machidon has been selected by the PSC for the position of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova and will be proposed to President Maia Sandu.

The Superior Council of Prosecutors has nominated Alexandru Machidon for the post of Prosecutor General, having scored 8.86 in the competition. Machidon, who has been acting Prosecutor General since May 2025, has identified shortcomings in the prosecution system and initiated measures to improve it. The competition was opened in June and the position became vacant after the appointment of Ion Munteanu as a Supreme Court judge.
