In the context of the construction of NATO's largest air base in Mihail Kogălniceanu, European countries are asking President Trump to deploy F-35 airplanes to Romania in support of Ukraine. Although Trump has ruled out deploying US troops to Ukraine, he has proposed providing air support. The allies are also demanding access for Ukraine to American GPS satellites and the delivery of air defense systems. Russia, through its foreign minister, has vehemently rejected these moves, demanding a veto over Western military support.
