The president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, commented on the participation of former prime ministers Adrian Năstase and Viorica Dăncilă at a military parade in Beijing, alongside leaders such as Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, stating that it is a "personal opinion" and does not reflect the party's position. Grindeanu suggested that if he were in their place, he would have avoided this situation, reaffirming the PSD's commitment to closer relations with the United States and the European Union. The criticism also came from the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, who emphasized that Romania cannot be represented by politicians who associate with Putin.
