Facebook will remove the News Feed from the app in the US and Australia due to moderation difficulties and to cut costs.

Facebook's news feed, which launched in 2019, will be removed in April in the US and Australia. This is the platform's second retreat from the news sphere after ditching the Instant format. News stories had a particular need for moderation, which, especially in the case of political stories, brought the company under fire from politicians.
