The European Commission has announced that Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, France and Greece will customize an age verification app to protect minors from harmful online content. The app will allow users to prove they are over 18, similar to real-life identity checks. In addition, the Commission has published guidelines for the protection of minors, addressing issues such as addictive design, cyberbullying and unwanted contact from strangers, recommending measures such as setting minors' accounts to private by default.
