At a conference, the energy minister highlighted the positive impact of the compensation-capping scheme on consumers, with total payments of 444 million lei. Burduja explained that the elimination of this scheme would have led to significant social and economic problems, including increased inflation. He also stressed the importance of a free market and collaboration between suppliers and the ministry to accelerate payments, noting that the Association of Electricity Suppliers in Romania has organized a conference on the re-liberalization of the energy market.
