This month, WhatsApp announced that users can start reserving usernames through the app, although this will not be mandatory. The company, owned by Meta, emphasized that users will have the option to delete or change their username at any time. Once the feature is fully activated, users will only be able to log in after they change their username. This measure is intended to enhance privacy, allowing users to control who can contact them. Usernames will be limited to 35 characters, and users will be able to reserve names from their account settings. Additionally, creators and organizations will be able to claim usernames from other Meta platforms. WhatsApp recommends users download the latest version of the app to take advantage of this feature.
