SpaceX has confirmed that a Starlink satellite, named 34343, suffered an anomaly in orbit on Sunday, resulting in a disruption of communications and the generation of space debris. The incident occurred at an altitude of approximately 560 kilometers above Earth. According to the official statement, the anomaly does not pose a risk to the International Space Station (ISS) or NASA's Artemis II mission. SpaceX will continue to monitor the satellite and the generated debris, collaborating with NASA and the U.S. Space Force to manage the situation. LeoLabs, a company specialized in tracking satellites, detected fragments associated with this incident, which resemble a previous anomaly of another Starlink satellite. Additionally, SpaceX has assured that this event does not affect the Transporter-16 mission, with the deployment of the payload taking place at a safe distance from the Starlink constellation.
