Meta, the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg, is considering laying off over 20% of its employees, following a streamlining strategy through the integration of artificial intelligence. Although the decision has not yet been formalized and there is no set date, management has asked leaders to prepare for potential staff reductions.

If the figure of 20% is confirmed, these layoffs will be the largest since the restructuring in 2022-2023, when 11,000 people were laid off. Meta has heavily invested in AI, with spending plans of $600 billion until 2028 and recent acquisitions of AI platforms. This trend of reducing staff in favor of AI technologies is also observed in other major companies in the tech sector, such as Amazon.
