Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, announced that Instagram has reached 3 billion monthly active users, a new historic milestone for the app. This has significantly increased from 2 billion in 2022, thanks to the popularity of the Reels feature, which allows the creation of short video content, competing with TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Instagram, acquired by Meta in 2012, has evolved from a simple photo-sharing app into a major social network, generating significant advertising revenue for the company.
