Google has revealed that it is working on two categories of smart glasses, one with screens and another without screens, with interaction for those in the latter category set to be done through voice commands. The glasses with screens will be the first available on the market, with their launch scheduled for next year, and their price will likely be higher compared to those without screens. Google is collaborating with partners such as Samsung, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster for the development of these products. Although Google has previously attempted with Google Glass, the upcoming glasses will have a design closer to that of regular glasses, thus facilitating their adoption. The announcement comes after Meta postponed the launch of its own AI glasses to 2027, giving Google an opportunity to be the first on the market.
