An experimental surgical robot, the SRT-H, has successfully performed gallbladder surgery, demonstrating autonomous capabilities using artificial intelligence. Unlike existing robots, which are controlled by surgeons, this system makes independent decisions and adapts to complications. Trained through imitation learning, the robot achieved 100% accuracy in tests, although it took longer than a human surgeon. This innovation could help address the shortage of doctors and improve the quality of healthcare.
