Recently, several hospitals in Romania have announced investments and procedures using advanced technologies. In Miercurea Ciuc, the first prostate cancer surgeries performed with the help of the Da Vinci robotic system took place, with the procedures carried out with support from a project financed through European funds.
At the same time, in the field of transplants, a team from the Fundeni Clinical Institute performed Romania’s first liver transplant involving robotic harvesting, using a technique that enables precise dissection and reduces surgical trauma for the donor. In parallel, in the USA, the FDA authorized a robot for blood collection under the supervision of a specialist, as an example of automation in medical procedures.
At the same time, the modernization of medical services has continued through equipment intended for diagnosis and treatment. In Galați, the “St. Ap. Andrei” Hospital received modern equipment for cancer detection, while in Bucharest, a foundation mobilized funds to equip a pediatric cardiovascular surgery department with equipment intended to support procedures and patient safety.
