Additionally, recent discussions between Ukraine and Russia, mediated by the USA, ended without significant progress, with Russia refusing to concede to Ukrainian demands, especially regarding the cession of the entire Donbas. Zelensky rejected the idea of territorial concessions, insisting that any decision of this kind should be validated by a referendum, which he considers to be against the cession of Donbas.
