The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, quickly called on international partners, especially the United States, to provide missiles for the Patriot air defense systems, following a massive Russian attack on Kyiv, resulting in 16 deaths and nearly 50 injuries. Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian air defense intercepted 90% of cruise missiles but is facing difficulties in intercepting ballistic missiles. He stated that Ukraine is ready to pay for these weapons, requesting swift political decisions from partners.
The recent attack damaged over 200 targets, including residential buildings and a children's hospital. Zelensky also announced additional sanctions against Russia and emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukraine's long-range attack capabilities.
